Discover the gloriously inventive and funny fantasy novel from bestselling author Terry Pratchett, the fourth book in the City Watch series, part of the Discworld novels.

'Generous, amusing and the ideal boarding point for those who have never visited Discworld' Sunday Telegraph

‘Terry Pratchett was a genius’ 5-star reader review

‘It was so much easier to blame it on them. It was bleakly depressing to think that they were us.’

War is brewing on the Discworld.

An island has appeared from the ocean depths, right in the middle of the sea which separates the proud empires of Klatch and Ankh-Morpork. Of course, no one would dream of starting a war with the neighbours without a perfectly good reason . . . such as a 'strategic' piece of old rock, for instance.

But when a Klatchian Prince is almost assassinated, peace talks break down and violent nationalism begins to spread. Ankh-Morpork prepares to fight. Only thing is, they don't have an army. Or much in the way of weapons.

Commander Sam Vimes and the 'officially disbanded' City Watch get caught up in a deadly political game where the enemy appears to be on both sides, and no one will listen to reason.

And if they don't stop this absurd war, no one will . . .

Jingo is the fourth book in the City Watch series, but you can read the Discworld novels in any order.

Praise for the Discworld series:

'[Pratchett’s] spectacular inventiveness makes the Discworld series one of the perennial joys of modern fiction' Mail on Sunday

‘Pratchett is a master storyteller’ Guardian

'One of our greatest fantasists, and beyond a doubt the funniest' George R.R. Martin

'One of those rare writers who appeals to everyone’ Daily Express

‘One of the most consistently funny writers around’ Ben Aaronovitch

‘Masterful and brilliant’ Fantasy & Science Fiction

‘Pratchett uses his other world to hold up a distorting mirror to our own… he is a satirist of enormous talent ... incredibly funny ... compulsively readable' The Times

‘The best humorous English author since P.G. Wodehouse' The Sunday Telegraph

‘Nothing short of magical’ Chicago Tribune

'Consistently funny, consistently clever and consistently surprising in its twists and turns' SFX

‘[Discworld is] compulsively readable, fantastically inventive, surprisingly serious exploration in story form of just about any aspect of our world…There's never been anything quite like it’ Evening Standard

Escape to the Volga is the third of my novels spinning the tales of the struggles of three different German families and their many descendants, as they emigrated ever farther and farther away from the old homeland. It begins in the village of Darmstadt in 1738. A happily married couple of the Lutheran Faith, coachmaker Conrad Simon and wife, is caught up in who is to blame for a terrible accident. Others, actually to blame, but out to protect their wealth and their lives, easily take advantage and force this innocent couple to run for their very lives. As you move through the next 172 years, you will meet many more additional characters spinning out their lives. I hope you enjoy it as a fictional story; but remember, this is fiction and fantasy, and not a research manual, and you should not assume any of it true. Some of it is, much of it is not! Hopefully, reading it may spark questions about your own ancestors. Even better, it may help you think about GOD, from who these amazing people got their strength to overcome all obstacles.
'Charming, sad, comic... the funniest, truest rock biopic yet' Observer

Daniel Weir used to be a famous - not to say infamous - rock star. Maybe still is. At thirty-one he has been both a brilliant failure and a dull success. He's made a lot of mistakes that have paid off and a lot of smart moves he'll regret for ever. He has gone from rags to riches and back, and managed to hold on to them both, though not to much else. His friends all seem to be dead, fed up with him or just disgusted - and who can blame them? As he contemplates his life, Daniel realises he has only two problems: the past and the future. He knows how bad the past has been. But the future - well, the future is something else.

Praise for Iain Banks:

'The most imaginative novelist of his generation' The Times

'His verve and talent will always be recognised, and his work will always find and enthral new readers' Ken MacLeod, Guardian

'His work was mordant, surreal, and fiercely intelligent' Neil Gaiman

'An exceptional wordsmith' Scotsman

His eyes are on the one eye of the rifle. His mouth splits open his brown beard. He throws up a hand, palm outward, in an unwilled, futile gesture to ward off death.

A killer is hounding the seaside town of Old Tornwich. Residents are gripped by fear and suspicion, and the finger of blame is pointed in all directions. But the bodies keep falling and the crimes remain unsolved, the culprit at large. No mere whodunnit, The Suburbs of Hellーits story inspired by a real-life serial killerーis a profoundly disturbing psychological drama with a devastating conclusion, the final work of one of Australia’s greatest writers.

Julian Randolph 'Mick' Stow was born in Geraldton, Western Australia, in 1935. He attended local schools before boarding at Guildford Grammar in Perth, where the renowned author Kenneth Mackenzie had been a student.

While at university he sent his poems to a British publisher. The resulting collection, Act One, won the Australian Literature Society’s Gold Medal in 1957ーas did the prolific young writer's third novel, To the Islands, the following year. To the Islands also won the 1958 Miles Franklin Literary Award. Stow reworked the novel for a second edition almost twenty-five years later, but never allowed its two predecessors to be republished.

He worked briefly as an anthropologist’s assistant in New Guineaーan experience that subsequently informed Visitants, one of three masterful late novelsーthen fell seriously ill and returned to Australia. In the 1960s he lectured at universities in Australia and England, and lived in America on a Harkness fellowship. He published his second collection of verse, Outrider; the novel Tourmaline, on which critical opinion was divided; and his most popular fiction, The Merry-Go-Round in the Sea and Midnite.

For years afterwards Stow produced mainly poetry, libretti and reviews. In 1969 he settled permanently in England: first in Suffolk, then in Essex, where he moved in 1981. He received the 1979 Patrick White Award.

Randolph Stow died in 2010, aged seventy-four. A private man, a prodigiously gifted yet intermittently silent author, he has been hailed as ‘the least visible figure of that great twentieth-century triumvirate of Australian novelists whose other members are Patrick White and Christina Stead’.

Praise for The Suburbs of Hell

‘Both a traditional murder mystery and a meditation on the random depredations of death.’ Australian Book Review

‘Poetic accuracy is only one aspect of a rich talent…Mr Stow has a narrative gift as well…He is, in fact a real novelist.’ Observer

‘A cleverly crafted whodunit… Stow is an example of the high calibre of Australian writers of yesterday. Many of these authors have been forgotten or perhaps overlooked. It’s pleasing to see that Text Publishing released this edition in 2015 and continue to foster some of Australia’s buried talents by re-publishing under Text Classics. For fans of the psychological thriller and those readers who enjoy a foray into a metaphorical tale, Stow delivers the goods.’ Salty Popcorn

These few paragraphs distill the contents and give you a quick look inside:

And I think that before I shall have finished this work, it will be necessary for me to repeat the same thing many times over; so, O reader, blame me not, because the subjects are many, and memory cannot retain them and say: This I will not write because I have already written it; and if I did not wish to fall into this error it would be necessary, every time that I wished to copy something, in order not to repeat myself, to read over all the preceding matter, all the more so since the intervals are long between one time of writing and another.

...Not louder does the tempestuous sea bellow when the north wind strikes its foaming waves between Scylla and Charybdis; nor Stromboli nor Mount Etna when the sulphurous flames, {4} shattering and bursting open the great mountain with violence, hurl stones and earth through the air with the flame it vomits; nor when the fiery caverns of Mount Etna, spitting forth the element which it cannot restrain, hurl it back to the place whence it issued, driving furiously before it any obstacle in the way of its vehement fury ... so I, urged by my great desire and longing to see the blending of strange and various shapes made by creating nature, wandered for some time among the dark rocks, and came to the entrance of a great cave, in front of which I long stood in astonishment and ignorance of such a thing.

...I know that many will say that this work is useless, and these are they of whom Demetrius said recked no more of the breath which made the words proceed from their mouth, than of the wind which proceeded from their body,?men who seek solely after riches and bodily satisfaction, men entirely denuded of that wisdom which is the food and verily the wealth of the soul; because insomuch as the soul is of greater value than the body, so much greater are the riches of the soul than those of the body.

...And if thou sayest that sight impedes the security and subtlety of mental meditation, by reason of which we penetrate into divine knowledge, and that this impediment drove a philosopher to deprive himself of his sight, I answer that the eye, as lord of the senses, performs its duty in being an impediment to the confusion and lies of that which is not science but discourse, by which with much noise and gesticulation argument is constantly conducted; and hearing should do the same, feeling, as it does, the offence more keenly, because it seeks after harmony which devolves on all the senses.

...Although human ingenuity may devise various inventions which, by the help of various instruments, answer to one and the same purpose, yet {17} will it never discover any inventions more beautiful, more simple or more practical than those of nature, because in her inventions there is nothing lacking and nothing superfluous; and she makes use of no counterpoise when she constructs the limbs of animals in such a way as to correspond to the motion of their bodies, but she puts into them the soul of the body.

These selected paragraphs distill the contents and give you a quick look inside:

The little straggling town faded away into country on one side close to the entrance-lodge of a great park, where lived my Lord and Lady Cumnor: the earl and the countess, as they were always called by the inhabitants of the town; where a very pretty amount of feudal feeling still lingered, and showed itself in a number of simple ways, droll enough to look back upon, but serious matters of importance at the time.

...She and the ladies, her daughters, had set up a school; not a school after the manner of schools now-a-days, where far better intellectual teaching is given to the boys and girls of labourers and work-people than often falls to the lot of their betters in worldly estate; but a school of the kind we should call industrial, where girls are taught to sew beautifully, to be capital housemaids, and pretty fair cooks, and, above all, to dress neatly in a kind of charity uniform devised by the ladies of Cumnor Towers;-white caps, white tippets, check aprons, blue gowns, and ready curtseys, and please, maams, being de rigueur.

...One comes down for a fortnight of quiet, at Whitsuntide, and leaves half ones establishment in town, and as soon as people know of our being here, we get letters without end, longing for a breath of country air, or saying how lovely the Towers must look in spring; and I must own, Lord Cumnor is a great deal to blame for it all, for as soon as ever we are down here, he rides about to all the neighbours, and invites them to come over and spend a few days.

...She felt better in the fresh air; and unobserved, and at liberty, went from one lovely spot to another, now in the open park, now in some shut-in flower-garden, where the song of the birds, and the drip of the central fountain, were the only sounds, and the tree-tops made an enclosing circle in the blue June sky; she went along without more thought as to her whereabouts than a butterfly has, as it skims from flower to flower, till at length she grew very weary, and wished to return to the house, but did not know how, and felt afraid of encountering all the strangers who would be there, unprotected by either of the Miss Brownings.

...The two ladies spoke to each other in a low voice; then the elder said in a voice of authority, which, indeed, she had always used in speaking to the other, Sit still here, my dear; we are going to the house, and Clare shall bring you something to eat before you try to walk back; it must be a quarter of a mile at least.

A mother who refused to listen. A little girl desperate to escape.【電子書籍】[ Lisa James ]

Four-year-old Lisa's world turned upside down when her step-father moved in. Most of the time he was just violent but then he started making her do things to him she knew were wrong. Soon he was visiting her at night. Lisa begged her mother for help but she just shrugged, telling Lisa he would have his way. It was the greatest betrayal of all.

At first Lisa's step-father would just make her stroke and massage his feet, hitting her if she stopped, but he soon wanted more. Much more. By the time she was 12 he was regularly abusing her. One day, when Lisa turned 16, she came home to discover that her mother had swapped bedrooms with her. 'You're my girlfriend now', her step-father told her. Lisa turned to her mother for help, but was met with a shrug. She wouldn't hear a word against her husband. 'Don't blame me,' she said. Her step-father's abuse was horrific but what completely tore her apart was knowing her mother knew and encouraged it.

Trapped and increasingly desperate, Lisa tried to find a way out. But her isolation was complete. A few months later her mother told her she'd arranged for Lisa and her step-father to move into a flat together down the road. It was too much for Lisa to bear. 'Please don't make me, please,' she sobbed. But her mother just ignored her. Lisa was marched around to the flat with her possessions and her nightmare was complete.

Alone with her step-father, Lisa's life became even more unbearable. Then one day, finally, she got the chance she'd been looking for to escape. Lisa bravely struck out on her own, petrified her mother would find her and hand her back into the waiting arms of her step-father. But Lisa's mother had no idea how determined she was to break away…

In June of 1934, newly-divorced Glynis Hampton and Woodhill Fire Department Captain Freddy Pratter find they share an interest in photography. They start going out on Sunday afternoons to snap pictures, and Freddy builds a darkroom in his apartment for developing film. Dalebridge Fire Chief Max Roper asks Freddy to investigate some field fires that Max believes were started by disgruntled farmers. Dalebridge firefighters Joe Lindbloom and Charlie Cooper, also are present. Shortly afterward, Glynis' brother, Mark Barneshill, who lives on his family's dairy farm, and is also a Dalebridge volunteer, warns Charlie to stay away from Glynis, making an enemy of Charlie. Another field fire is set in Dalebridge. Then, a suspicious fire in an abandoned barn in Woodhill is followed by a fire in an abandoned house where the body of a man is found in the basement. Joe Lindbloom, having helped Charlie set the first field fires, tells Charlie he will no longer help him. In turn, Charlie threatens Joe that if he doesn't continue to help, Charlie will make sure Joe is blamed for the death of the man in the basement. Mark and his father, Ben, argue and Mark takes off. That same night a farm fire in Woodhill results in the death of a child. Joe accuses Charlie of setting that fire and Charlie puts the blame on Mark. One afternoon when Glynis is alone in Freddy's apartment developing film, she sees an ad for an impotence cure. That same day, Freddy learns that Glynis' ex-husband is a homosexual. When Freddy and Glynis confront each other with their newly-found knowledge, each is mortified, and an argument ensues. While setting another fire, Charlie tells Joe that he can easily abduct Joe's wife or daughters if Joe implicates Charlie in the fires. After that fire is extinguished, Charlie further taunts Joe by suggesting that Joe's wife ran off with Mark. When Joe realizes that Charlie has been inside his house, he and Charlie fight. Charlie boasts that he is going to make sure Mark dies in a fire at the Barneshill farm. Joe tries to warn Ben, but is too badly injured to make himself understood. As Glynis drives Joe to the hospital, Joe admits his part in the fires. In the meantime, Charlie sets a fire in the Barneshill's dairy barn and lures Mark into the lower level of the barn thinking the upper-level floor will collapse, crushing Mark to death. The floor holds, Mark is rescued, and Charlie attempts to escape using Glynis as a hostage. Glynis manages to break free and Charlie is caught. Following Charlie's arrest, Freddy and Glynis make up and explain their reasons to each other for keeping their friendship platonic. As soon as they separate, though, they each regret their words. The next day, Freddy asks Glynis to marry him and she joyfully accepts.

When Kelly Anderson's best friends were murdered on a vacation to Mexico, it rocked her world, and forever changed her life. After graduating in Psychology from college, Kelly has made it her goal to help other people deal with tragedy in order to move on with their lives. As a Grief Counselor who works directly with the police department, her current case concerns a little 8 year old girl named Angelita, who is so traumatized by her 11 year old brother's death, that she cannot talk. She could be a potential eyewitness for the crime, however, and that puts her in great danger. Kelly becomes embroiled in an international murder/smuggling/kidnapping crime spree, all for diamonds, that takes her to Lima Peru, and brings together a Latin family that no one knew existed. Mike Torres, the lead detective on this case, follows Kelly to South America. His head tells him it’s just business, but his heart has other ideas. He just can’t seem to resist this beautiful blonde clumsy tornado that has whirled into his life and heart. Things come to a climax in a shootout that pits Father against son, and gives a Grandfather a whole new family he knew nothing about. A story about how pain and grief are part of our world, but with help of family and friends and a good sense of humor, they do not have to 'define' our life. Kelly finds love and new purpose in her life. Young Angelita finds love and a new family, while Luis Oliveri is stripped of everything that he thought made life worth living, his wealth, fame, and his business empire. There is, of course, no one to blame but Kelly Anderson, and his sole purpose in life becomes the destruction of Kelly and all of the things that are important to her. Revenge can turn a man's soul to darkness and his heart as black as the night.

Incubus Again (Paranormal Adult Romance)

For a thousand years the Sex Fae had hidden in plain sight among the Humans. After the Great Purge when the Aristocracy of the Supernatural Community attempted to exterminate the Incubus and Succubus for being able to control everyone else, those few who survived worked to erase themselves from collective memory. They became vague impressions and old wives tales. Shapeshifters who could assume any human form, they easily became what one desired the most. They fed on the sexual energy of a partner, but unlike a Vampire, they didn’t just take. They gaveーthe most fantastic orgasm the partner would ever experience. Incubus Again follows the stories of the Incubus Luka and the younger Incubus Stan as they navigate the sexuality of the 21st Century

Big Bad Incubus

Luka is Summoned for the Vengeance of a Spurned Lover. But Vengeance has a cost.

Wayward Wolf

When a Werewolf sleeps with the best friend of his partner, she plots her revenge. "Stan the Man" is rumored to be able to turn a straight man gay. Will it work if the target is a werewolf?

Incubus Debt

Vengeance comes at a price and the Incubus comes to collect.

Incubus and the Cub

What happens when a chubby Cub from the Bear Community fantasizes having a hot and huge Daddy Bear? Luka is about to discover a lot more of himself in the process.

Excerpt:

Those fantasies told me she was not like Tucker. She wanted to be dominated the way no one would dominate her in the day or at her work. She wanted to give up all responsibility for her sexual desires. She wanted to be the innocent one, and blame the Big Bad Incubus. I enjoyed a sip of the scotch and she drank half of hers in one swallow. Scotch should only be taken that way as self-medication. I took another step forward, giving my movement the slightest hint of menace. Her heart beat sped up.

“How did you escape the Circle?” Her arousal spiked. She began to understand just how little control she had. Be careful what you wish for. She finished her scotch and set the glass on the table.

“Such Circles are for Demons,” I told her. “An Incubus is not a true Demon no matter the judgment of the Church. We are actually part of the Lost Fair Ones, better known as the Fae.” I looked away. “And some have called us Angels.”

“But you came when I Called,” she whispered.

“I came because I was curious. I was never compelled. I return now because you are still calling to me, but in a different way. I mentioned there was a cost. If you give over another to someone like me, you give yourself as well.” I moved forward again, and she withdrew--stopped when her back touched the wall.

Europe’s most fearsome prisoner, Vlad Dracula, gifted military commander and one time Prince of Wallachia, the notorious Lord Impaler himself, is about to be released after twelve long years, in order to hold back the tide of Ottoman aggression. The price of his new alliance with his Hungarian captors is the king’s cousin Ilona.

Ilona does not wish to be married. In particular, she doesn’t wish to marry Vlad. Gentle, faded and impossibly vague, Ilona is hardly fit for court life, let alone for dealing with so difficult a husband.

But Ilona’s wishes have nothing to do with Vlad’s reputation and everything to do with a lifelong love affair that finally broke her. Ilona’s family blame Vlad; Vlad vows to discover the truth and sets out by unconventional means to bring back the woman who once enchanted him. Among court intrigues, international maneuverings and political deceptions, Vlad reveals himself more victim than villain. But he’s still more than capable of reclaiming his lost rights to both Wallachia and Ilona; and Ilona, when it counts, has enough strength for them both.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

Bonjour cher reader,

Ever since European history began, we Brits have been happily engaged in our national pastime - annoying the French. And the past couple of years have shown that this annoying never stops. To give just three examples:

After a mid-Atlantic collision between French and British nuclear submarines, France's Minister of Defence seemed to blame the accident on ... shrimps.

When French political superstar Dominique Strauss-Kahn was arrested in New York, France's establishment was outraged. It soon emerged that sexual harassment was regarded as a basic human right by the country's male ?lite. (This theme provided so much excellent material that I decided to include it in the plot of my soon-to-be published novel, The Merde Factor.)

And when David Cameron walked out of a Eurosummit, a French politician accused him of being 'like a man at a wife-swapping party who refuses to bring his own wife.' Yes, a very French image, and it just one of the many anti-Anglais insults that came flying across the Channel.

You will find all this, and much more, in Annoying the French Encore! Because, for the French, the merde never ends.

Yours historically,

Stephen Clarke, Paris, August 2012

'Tremendously entertaining' Sunday Times

'Relentlessly and energetically rude' Mail on Sunday

This story is true.

It is a disturbing expose of child sexual abuse at the hands of an authority figure, a Canon, in the Anglican Church of Canada in the early 1960’s.

What it is not, unfortunately, is unique.

Historically under reported, statistics still suggest that one in three children will be the victims of child sexual abuse in 2015.

From the initial shocking violation, the abuse continued for four more years. Outwardly she and her family seemed normal. There was a father, mother and two siblings. The mother was a nurse and worked nights, the father a WWII veteran.

The effects of this systematic abuse followed her throughout her life affecting every aspect. She had no idea. No idea that she had been abused, she thought of it as an “affair”. No idea of how her life was affected, until she started to write fifty years later and discovered her muse at her side.

This, then, is the story of historical abuse and its effects. More importantly however it is a story of surmounting and survival. Hopefully somewhere it also answers the question, “Why me?”

To other survivors: I hope you will be able to relate to my experiences. You are not to blame and you are not alone.

Contents
Fables of Field and Staff (1893)
From Headquarters (1892)

Fables of Field and Staff -
If you are of the volunteer service, you may be trusted, I think, to catch the spirit of these stories; if you are of The Army, you may consider the tales as illustrative of the customs of a service to which your own is but distantly related; but if it isvi your great misfortune to be an out-and-out civilianーwhy, then you must take your chance with what follows, and lay no blame upon me should you find yourself on unfamiliar ground.

From Headquarters -
The volunteer service of the present time means, to those who find themselves enrolled in it, something more than a mere pastime; and if those who hold it in small esteem could but know of the faithful, conscientious, and untiring work that, from year's end to year's end, is being done in armory and camp, they would leave unsaid, it seems[Pg vii] to me, the half-contemptuous words that too often come to the ears of the hard-working, long-suffering, and unrewarded citizen-soldier.

It has been said that the best is none too good for the service of the Commonwealth.

In the past both the significance and purpose of Martial's poetry have often been misinterpreted or missed altogether because of the particular literary and social background and context that inform his poetry. For example, literary histories have given the impression that Martial wrote 'unobjectionably trivial' poems merely to cull favour from patrons; they also suggest that he had little to say that was serious. In contrast, this book argues that Martial with his poetry played a serious and vital role in his community as a social guide or conscience. The book's unique approach to Martial's poetry places him within the reactionary tradition of Indo-European blame/praise poetry. Poets in this tradition served a vital function for their community: in reaction to the perceived deterioration of the behaviour and conditions of their day they either praised ideal behaviour, or, more commonly, ridiculed socially aberrant and destructive behaviour.

The Succession Crisis in Nigeria is one of the most important books you will ever read on generational succession planning. It zeroes in on Nigeria and identifies the failure in establishing generational succession planning as one of the most critical problems facing fathers, business leaders, corporate leaders, community leaders, government leaders and church leaders in the country. It also explains the benefits of raising successors with the right kind of values and why a generational perspective is vital when considering succession planning. For many Nigerians who have been alive since before the nation’s independence in 1960, the half century between then and now may truly be called ‘The Era of the Decline of Institutions’. It is difficult to find one important institution in the country that has not lost a discernible part of its quality and value in the period. Equally, it is becoming impossible to find a community anywhere in Nigeria in which societal values have survived undamaged. Indeed, Wale Adefarasin is convinced that “the core of our national malaise in Nigeria is a catastrophic loss of values.” From this, we may be tempted to draw the simple conclusion, either that past generations of Nigerians have not added much value to their country, or, at least, that they have not ? in the words of Scripture ? been able to bear “fruit that will last.” [John 15:16] Yet we know that we would be hugely mistaken to come to such a conclusion. We are able to recall the names of many Nigerians of excellence who have passed through our land, people who qualify to be described as people of excellence precisely because they brought great glory to their country on account of the nobility and loftiness of their value contribution both at home and internationally. This book reflects the agitation in the mind of the author as he sees that much of that excellent quality has withered away, leaving behind a society that now looks a shadow of itself. We often pray for our friends that their “shadow may never grow less”; but as the substance of the Nigerian persona has diminished, so has its ‘shadow’ suffered progressive diminution! It has been said that, “leaders are tenants of time and context”. If previous generations added good value in their own time, can we then justifiably lay the blame at the door of their successor generations for failing to maintain and improve that which they inherited? Wale Adefarasin’s thesis is that our real problem is that we have been very poor at managing succession from one generation to the next, not just in terms of passing on responsibility, but particularly in effectively transferring values and standards across generations. Today, businesses have come to acknowledge the wisdom of managing succession, not only between today’s job-holder and his immediate successor, but at multiple levels, as deep into the organisation as is practicable. Current events and trends suggest that we have, in fact, a crisis of succession in Nigeria. Pastor Wale Adefarasin has shown much courage and determination in sharing his thoughts and concerns at a time like this. This is completely understandable when we remember the eminence of his pedigree as well as the consistency with which he has pursued his chosen calling and responsibility for capacity building as a pastor. He is a successful practitioner who continues to demonstrate the certainty of achievement in anything to which we truly give our heart. He reminds one constantly that Apostle Paul did not over-state his injunction ? “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” [Colossians 3:23] These attributes confirm the certainty that those who read this book will find much of real benefit in doing so, and thereby, come closer to the possibility that, indeed, we may all leave this nation, Nigeria, in a better state than that in which we found her. - Dr. Christopher Kolade, CON.
