After a long day of flying, it started to get dark and the swallow took a place to sleep. He then saw a statue of the prince and sat down between his feet.＜/p＞ ＜p＞At that moment, a drop of water fell on him. It is not uncommon for the bad weather. But that was not the case, so the little swallow didn't know where the water came from. Realizing that the statue could not protect him, he decided to fly away. But then he saw the Prince's tears-filled eyes.＜/p＞ ＜p＞Little Swallow couldn't figure out why the happy prince was so sad, and he explained to him that he didn't know the tears when he was alive. The Prince began talking about how he saw a poor seamstress in an alley dressed up while her sick son lay in bed. Because they were poor, the only thing his mother could help him with was the water from the river.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The prince asked Swallow to take a ruby from his sword and give it to the poor woman. Swallow said yes, and he stayed with the prince one more night. When he returned, he confessed that he had felt the warmth and the prince told him that it was because he had done a good deed.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The next night, Swallow wants to go to Egypt. But the prince asked him to stay for another night. Swallow tells him that he should leave. But then the prince told him a story about a hungry boy in the attic. Since he didn't have his rubies, he told Swallow to take a sapphire to give it to the boy and another to the poor girl.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The prince was completely blind and the Swallow could not leave him now, and although it was getting colder, he stayed with the prince and told him a story about Egypt. The prince asked him to fly over the city and tell him what he would see. After his return, he told him that he saw extreme poverty. The prince told him to take the gold leaf from his body and bring it to the poor.＜/p＞ ＜p＞The prince looked lifeless and gray, and the swallow died of the cold. As the statues lost their beauty, they made him liquid. His lead heart was deflated, so they threw it away with the swallow. God told his angel that he would bring him two favorite things from the city, and one angel brought a heart and a dead bird.
