Bring unconditional bliss, the alchemy of passion promises a transformational power that will center you at the core of an unfolding universe.

This too will pass. How could this nondual wisdom be your master key to personal manifestation, healing, liberation, joy, and fulfillment? The answer is through the felt sense of passion. Passion is the elixir that arouses our deepest suffering into purpose, bringing the alchemy of service to the whole. In Nondual Passion, you will take a journey of inner exploration which could leaded to a grace-filled, individual epiphany of refinding yourself, home - loved, and cherished, in a universe that doesn't need to make sense, because it is a sensory universe.

What is passion? Where do we find purpose? Why must we suffer? How can the horror of loss be healed through the wisdom that all is passing?

Nondual wisdom is evolutionary: activating, healing, and liberating the Western Psyche. The world can no longer ignore the tremendous healing effect of consciousness, and the qualities of consciousness, and this book is part of the advance of understanding in how this works, spiritually, psychologically, and physically. When passion awakens, we open a profound sense of purpose, fulfilment, individual manifestation, and evolutionary service to the whole. Passion is a path-breaker, resting on the wisdom that everything passes.

Now is the time to open the nondual adventure.

In this book, you'll journey into the quality of passion unveiling purpose, direction, choice, happiness, and fulfillment.

You'll learn how to:

Find purpose at the core of suffering.

Clear passages through densities of boredom.

Recenter from addiction and emotional bypass.

Heal and resource the body, mind, and spirit.

Rise into compassion and wisdom.

International spiritual teacher and pioneer of nondual therapy Georgi Y. Johnson leads you on an experiential investigation into the mysteries of passion, purpose. life direction and personal fulfillment. Passion is a primal quality of consciousness, energizing, rejuvenating, path-breaking, and bringing a flow of unconditional fulfillment. You will learn how the free flow of passion can heal us, psychologically, spiritually, and physically.

Any exploration of passion is an exploration of consciousness and the nature of experience. In this, Nondual Passion will also take you into a journey of insight into the nature of suffering. This includes a tracing of the flow from suffering, to service, to passion, compassion, and wisdom. This energetic passage through the psyche is an evolutionary accelerating process of healing, resilience, and spiritual liberation. Resting on the nondual wisdom of unity and interdependence, the book shows how the passing of time and the passage through space is all part of the passion which is at the creative core of all experience.

The doorway, the book proposes is through the resonance of experience. For example, for as long as we identify our purpose as a "thing", positioned in the future, that can be won or lost, we will never find it. Rather, our purpose is a felt sense - the felt sense of purpose - that is a navigational flashlight of consciousness that lights up the direction which is attuned to the deepest need and facilitates the flow of passion. Page after page, Nondual Passion invites you on this experiential journey.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Icebound In The Arctic The Mystery of Captain Francis Crozier and the Franklin Expedition【電子書籍】[ Michael Smith ]

Captain Francis Crozier was a major figure in 19th century Arctic and Antarctic exploration who led the doomed Franklin Expedition's battle to survive against the odds. It is a compelling story which refuses to be laid to rest and recent discovery of his lost ships above the Arctic Circle gives it a new urgency.

The ships may hold vital clues to how two navy vessels and 129 men disappeared 170 years ago and why Crozier, in command after Franklin's early death, left the only written clue to the biggest disaster in Polar history.

Drawn from historic records and modern revelations, this is the only comprehensive account of Crozier's extraordinary life. It is a tale of a great explorer, a lost love affair and an enduring mystery.

Crozier's epic story began comfortably in Banbridge, Co Down and involved six gruelling expeditions on three of the 19th century's great endeavours ? navigating the North West Passage, reaching the North Pole and mapping Antarctica. But it ended in disaster.

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】THE ROAD TO OZ: Timeless Children Novel (Over 100 Illustrations and Audiobook Link)【電子書籍】[ L. Frank Baum ]

The Road to Oz: In Which Is Related How Dorothy Gale of Kansas, The Shaggy Man, Button Bright, and Polychrome the Rainbow's Daughter Met on an Enchanted Road and Followed it All the Way to the Marvelous Land of Oz. is the fifth of L. Frank Baum's Land of Oz books. It was originally published on July 10, 1909 and documents Dorothy's fourth visit to Oz.
The book was dedicated to Joslyn Stanton Baum, the author's first grandson, the child of Baum's eldest son Frank Joslyn Baum.

“Dorothy is near her home in Kansas when the story begins. She and her dog Toto first meet the Shaggy Man, a wandering hobo who carries the Love Magnet with him, en route to avoid the town of Butterfield. Further on, the road splits into seven paths. They take the seventh and soon meet Button Bright, a little boy in a sailor's outfit who is always getting lost. Later, the companions meet Polychrome the Rainbow's Daughter, a fairy who danced off the edge of the rainbow just as it disappeared.
Dorothy, Toto, the Shaggy Man, Button-Bright, and Polychrome soon come to the town of Foxville, where anthropomorphic foxes live. With prompting from King Dox of Foxville, Dorothy deduces that she's on another "fairy adventure" that will ultimately lead her to Oz, just in time for Ozma's birthday party, which is now acknowledged as August 21 by Oz fans, even though the book only refers to the 21st of the month, Dorothy having mentioned that the current month is August in another passage. The king takes a particular liking to Button Bright, whom he considers astute and clever due to his tabula rasa-like mind. Believing that the human face does not suit one so clever, Dox gives him a fox's head. A similar event subsequently happens to the Shaggy Man, when King Kik-a-Bray of Dunkiton confers a donkey's head upon himーalso in reward for cleverness, even though it's implied that Foxville and Dunkiton exist at odds with one another.”….
In this edition also included over 100 Illustrations and Audiobook Link.

Popular Romances of the West of England (Complete)【電子書籍】[ Robert Hunt ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】Popular Romances of the West of England (Complete)【電子書籍】[ Robert Hunt ]

THE beginning of this collection of Popular Romances may I be truly said to date from my early childhood. I remember with what anticipations of pleasure, sixty-eight years since, I stitched together a few sheets of paper, and carefully pasted them into the back of an old book. This was preparatory to a visit I was about to make with my mother to Bodmin, about which town many strange stories were told, and my purpose was to record them. My memory retains dim shadows of a wild tale of Hender the Huntsman of Lanhydrock; of a narrative of streams having been poisoned by the monks; and of a legend of a devil who. played many strange pranks with the tower which stands on a neighbouring hill. I have, within the last year? endeavoured to recover those stories, but in vain. The living people appear to have forgotten them; my juvenile note-book has long been lost those traditions are, it is to be feared, gone for ever. Fifteen years passed away--about six of them at school in Cornwall, and nine of them in close labour in London,--when failing health compelled my return to the West of England. Having spent about a month on the borders of Dartmoor, and wandered over that wild region of Granite Tors, gathering up its traditions,--ere yet Mrs Bray [a] had thought of doing so, -- I resolved on walking through Cornwall. Thirty-five years since, on a beautiful spring morning, I landed at Saltash, from the very ancient passage-boat which in those days conveyed men and women, carts-and cattle, across the river Tamar, where now that triumph of engineering, the Albert Bridge, gracefully spans its waters. Sending my box forward to Liskeard by a van, my wanderings commenced; my purpose being to visit each relic of Old Cornwall, and to gather up every existing tale of its ancient people. Ten months were delightfully spent in this way; and in that period a large number of the romances and superstitions which are published in these volumes were collected, with many more, which have been weeded out of the collection as worthless.

Survivors of the Clotilda: The Lost Stories of the Last Captives of the American Slave Trade著者: Hannah Durkin出版社: Amistad出版日: 2024年01月30日新しい本新古品・未使用品。 Joining the ranks of Rebecca Skloot's The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and Zora Neale Hurston's rediscovered classic Barracoon, an immersive and revelatory history of the Clotilda, the last slave ship to land on US soil, told through the stories of its survivors--the last documented survivors of any slave ship--whose lives diverged and intersected in profound ways. The Clotilda, the last slave ship to land on American soil, docked in Mobile Bay, Alabama, in July 1860--more than half a century after the passage of a federal law banning the importation of captive Africans, and nine months before the beginning of the Civil War. The last of its survivors lived well into the twentieth century. They were the last witnesses to the final act of a terrible and significant period in world history. In this epic work, Dr. Hannah Durkin tells the stories of the Clotilda's 110 captives, drawing on her intensive archival, historical, and sociological research. The Survivors of the Clotilda follows their lives from their kidnappings in what is modern-day Nigeria through a terrifying 45-day journey across the Middle Passage; from the subsequent sale of the ship's 103 surviving children and young people into slavery across Alabama to the dawn of the Civil Rights movement in Selma; from the foundation of an all-Black African Town (later Africatown) in Northern Mobile--an inspiration for writers of the Harlem Renaissance, including Zora Neale Hurston--to the foundation of the quilting community of Gee's Bend--a Black artistic circle whose cultural influence remains enormous. An astonishing, deeply compelling tapestry of history, biography, and social commentary, The Survivors of the Clotilda is a tour de force that deepens our knowledge and understanding of the Black experience and of America and its tragic past. The Survivors of the Clotilda includes 30 artworks and photographs.

The Witch of Sulphur Mountain: The Supernatural Life of Agnes Baron, Meher Baba's Beloved Watchdog【電子書籍】[ David Madison ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Witch of Sulphur Mountain: The Supernatural Life of Agnes Baron, Meher Baba's Beloved Watchdog【電子書籍】[ David Madison ]

"Baba, if you want Meher Mount I’ll keep it for you through hellfire and damnation!"

With these words fiery Agnes Baron commences the remaining 46 years of her hard-scrabble life devoted to Indian mystic Meher Baba who claims to be the Avatar (God in human form). She will get plenty of both. Two years prior in 1946, at Meher Baba’s behest, she, Jean Adriel, and other Baba-lovers found and established Meher Mount, an idyllic 172-acre retreat atop Sulphur Mountain in Ojai, CA. By the time she made her vow, Jean and the others had departed, leaving Meher Mount in her hands. But how will she keep “Baba’s Place” out of the hands of covetous schemers? She doesn’t own it. Jean does. And if Jean wants to sell it, there’s nothing she can do. Or is there? It brings out the witch in her. For this Meher Baba nicknames Agnes "Agni," Sanskrit word for fire, and dubs her his “Beloved Watchdog.” For 10 years she worries herself more than any dog its bone that it will be sold from under Baba’s feet. Shortly before his only visit to Meher Mount, on August 2, 1956, Agni gets Meher Mount in her name. But her worries aren’t over. A single woman without means, she finds work as a substitute teacher, and sells strawberries she grows, and lives with the haunting fear she won’t be able to make the mortgage payments, and the bank will seize it. Some who covet the property try to make her a ward of the state.

Agnes Baron’s remarkable life is written in the form of an idyll, a narrative poem in heroic verse. And heroic aptly describes her 87-year odyssey. Shortly after graduating in 1928 with a sociology degree from Antioch College, known for turning out revolutionaries, Agnes departs for war-torn Europe, on fire to help “My Friends Abroad.” Working as a freelance journalist, she chronicles the plight of the Jews fleeing anti-Semitism, and goes to Lisbon where she “bullies” bureaucrats for passports, and shipping companies and captains for passage. She travels the Balkan states, chronicling the plight of the underdogs: the poor, sick, oppressed, and downtrodden. In Spain she graphically depicts the atrocities of the Spanish Civil War, the bombings by German and Italian planes of Guernica and Barcelona. Throughout Europe she raises the alarm of the growing Nazi menace, and with the outbreak of WWII, the mounting horrors of the holocaust. After 13 years, sickened with man’s inhumanity to man, Agnes abandons her faith in God and returns to San Francisco, lost. “I hated humanity. I just wanted everybody to die. Blow them to hell. I just hated everybody. I was so in the deeps of despair that I gave myself arthritis of the spine. Then I stumbled on this lovely Quaker lady, and I went to one of her meetings. She went to Vedanta. I thought, Well if she goes to Vedanta it must be respectable. So I went up the hill and walked into the Vedanta Temple, and for the first time I had a ray of hope. There must be some hope for humanity. . . .”

She embraces Vedanta, and asks the swami of the Vedanta Temple if he will accept her as a nun. “I don’t take women,” he tells her, “but my brother swami in Hollywood does.” She goes there, he accepts her, and she lives the life of a Vedanta nun for two years, but still she does not find peace. Then she realizes why. She has to let God back into her heart. She does. But then she catches the swami in an indiscretion, and leaves him in disgust, telling him, “You're a fallen guru.”

She goes to a nearby Vedanta temple, Ananda Ashrama, is accepted, but then is told her typing late at night is keeping others awake. The swami tells her of another place two miles up the road, the New Life Center, devoted to an Indian guru. She wants nothing more to do with gurus, but she needs a place where she can write in peace. She goes there, rents a little place on a hill, and tells the owner, Jean Adriel, “Look, I don’t want anything to do with your damned [this under her breath] guru.” His name is Meher Baba.

Thanks to this, he can begin a journey into the past to encounter once more the day when, as a child, a special teacher led him to witness life experiences of others, of real people. Some of these experiences were painful, others not, but all were crucial to understanding our path through this world. Sometimes, though, that understanding requires the passage of time, the acceptance of our limitations, or the recognition that the transcendent awaits us within ourselves, even if we are lost in the darkest of caves.''

The Harbour-Master【電子書籍】[ Robert W. Chambers ]

In "The Harbour-Master," Robert W. Chambers masterfully weaves a narrative rich in atmospheric detail, exploring themes of love, isolation, and the inexorable passage of time. Set against the backdrop of a remote coastal village, the story delves into the life of the titular harbour-master, whose introspective journey reflects Chambers' signature style of blending realism with elements of mysticism. The novel is notable for its lyrical prose and vivid imagery, hallmarks of the fin-de-si?cle literary movement, which encapsulated the anxiety and sensibilities of a changing world at the turn of the 20th century. Robert W. Chambers, celebrated for his contributions to both fiction and art, was influenced by the symbolist movement, as well as his own experiences in the aesthetic circles of Paris. His background in art and literature not only informed his creative voice but also shaped his thematic focus on beauty and decay, making "The Harbour-Master" a poignant reflection on human connections and the natural world. Chambers' varied career and deep engagement with the arts undoubtedly enriched the emotional depth of this novel. This hauntingly beautiful tale is recommended to readers who appreciate literary fiction that is both introspective and evocative. "The Harbour-Master" invites exploration into the human psyche and the complexities of relationships in a world tinged with the melancholy of lost opportunities. The Breaks of Naval Air The Further Adventures of Youthly Pursesome【電子書籍】[ Jack D. Woodul ]

【電子書籍なら、スマホ・パソコンの無料アプリで今すぐ読める!】The Breaks of Naval Air The Further Adventures of Youthly Pursesome【電子書籍】[ Jack D. Woodul ]

This book is a collection of mostly light hearted stories about tactical Naval Aviation off aircraft carriers in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It is not a history, per se, nor is it like one of the many fine, factual, first person accounts of by other Naval Aviators. The author’s impulse was to capture a snapshot of that culture and experience through both oral traditionーstories told by aviators that were too good to be lost; and his own experience. Thus was born Youthly Puresome and his passage through the various Breaks of Naval Air. Depicting the experiences of a typically irreverent young Naval Aviator, these stories stir memories of similar experiences in all who have flown Navy jet aircraft from the decks of aircraft carriers or from bases ashore. While the hardware may be different, these tales should resonate with other services, and the characters and life its ownself be familiar with those that know and love them.

Beginning in the Fall 1991 issue of The Tailhook Association’s quarterly publication, The Hook magazine, until Fall 2011, a series of these stories were published under the title: “The Further Adventures of Youthly Puresome.” Youthly is the alter ego of Jack Woodul, a native of New Mexico who went through the Navy’s Training Command in the early ’60s and earned his Naval Aviator’s wings. He flew the A-4 Skyhawk in Vietnam, and after leaving active duty continued to fly F-8 Crusaders and F-4 Phantoms with the NAS Dallas Reserves. When not bagging flight time in gray jets, he was an airline pilot in “real life.” Now retired, he continues to fly and write about light airplanes and ranch life.

“The Further Adventure of Youthly Puresome” series led to an Outstanding Sea Story award by Fighter Squadron 201 in 1988; the 1994 Hook Magazine Contributor of the Year award; and a 1998 Tailhook Association Lifetime Achievement Award.

Five Seats is a psychological account of the brutal impact of violence on the ordinary lives of an unhappy wife, an imposing businesswoman, a God-fearing apostate, a fierce temptress and a skinny little girl who live in South Africa. As the five victims each struggle with unspeakable truths, their vulnerability and unravelling become inevitable. When they are about to give up on life, the girl-child follows a hidden passage into a basement where the four women are waiting to go on a quest in search of what they had lost.

“Beautifully written with a rare vulnerability and honesty. Intriguing, with just enough clues to prepare the reader for a terrifying yet wonderful choice.” Heather Snyman, Trauma Counsellor and EMDR Therapist

About the Author

Leonie Vorster is a Research Psychologist from Johannesburg, South Africa. She is also an award-winning strategist, and a writer. Her work is inspired by everyday life in one of the most beautiful, fascinating, and complicated countries in the world, and by her travels to others.

www.fiveseats.org

Five Seats is a magical realism novel. The unique characteristics of five protagonists and their harsh realities are combined with magical manifestations of their internal lives. Parts of the novel lean towards the style of realistic fiction, whereas other parts are written in the style of personal reflection or memoir. The style parallels the nature of the five main characters: Ancient Woman, Madonna and Little Girl are the more primal characters, whereas Working Girl and Virago are more reflective, but also more detached, observing themselves from a distance.

The seeming disjointedness of the protagonists challenges the reader to explore why and how the characters develop, as they survive violent events and struggle with the fallout. They inevitably fall apart, realising that they will not survive if they cannot overcome, and come together. Elements of magic run throughout the book, and fuse in the end. The characters’ transformations are both real-world and symbolic, rendering their development relevant to anyone reading the book.

Five Seats is a literary commentary on dogmatism, hypocrisy, privilege, and the devastating impact of various forms of violence. Finally, the story also conveys hope and the belief that every person’s journey, no matter how easy or hard, has meaning, is worthwhile, and ‘magically’ happens exactly as it should.

The REAL College Survival Guide【電子書籍】[ Kevin Lawson ]

Remember taking a College Orientation class as soon as the tuition money cleared? Remember how many important rites of passage it didn't cover? Humorist Kevin Lawson sure does, and, as expected, he's brought his charmingly snarky observations to the table. "The REAL College Survival Guide" is part reference book, part satirical reflection, and all about secondary education.

Dorm Resident Advisor: Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!

You know, when I signed up to be a resident advisor, I thought I was stepping into a role that would be a mix of mentorship, community building, and maybe a little bit of chaos. What I didn't expect was to become a glorified babysitter for a bunch of 18-year-olds who think they're invincible. I mean, I'm pretty sure I've seen more questionable life choices in a single semester than I did in my entire high school career.

Let's start with the first week of the semester. I'm all excited, ready to welcome my residents with open arms and a well-rehearsed speech about community and support. I'm thinking, "This is going to be great! I'm going to help these kids find themselves!" But then, I walk into the common room, and what do I find? A group of freshmen trying to microwave an entire bag of popcorn without taking it out of the plastic. I'm standing there, watching them, and I can't help but think, "This is the future of our society?"

And then there's the noise. Oh, the noise. You'd think I was living in a concert hall. I mean, I get it; it's college, and you want to have fun. But when your idea of fun is blasting music at 2 a.m. while I'm trying to have a heart-to-heart with my pillow, we have a problem. I once had to knock on a door at 3 a.m. because someone thought it would be a good idea to host a karaoke night. Spoiler alert: they couldn't sing. I'm pretty sure I lost a few brain cells that night, and I'm still waiting for them to come back.

And let's not forget about the "emergencies." I've had residents come to me with issues ranging from "I lost my phone" to "I think my roommate is a vampire." Yes, a vampire. Apparently, the roommate was just really into goth fashion and had a penchant for staying up all night. But hey, who am I to judge? I mean, I once thought I could pull off a mohawk, so we all have our phases.

Then there's the classic "I can't find my ID" scenario. You'd think these kids were searching for the Holy Grail. I've seen them tear apart their entire rooms, throw clothes everywhere, and even check the fridgeーbecause, you know, maybe it was hiding next to the leftover pizza. And when they finally find it, it's always in the last place they look. I mean, of course it is! It's like they think the ID is playing hide and seek.

And let's talk about the "community events" I'm supposed to organize. I had this brilliant idea to host a game night. I thought, "What could go wrong?" Well, let me tell you, when you mix competitive spirits with a group of college students and a game of Monopoly, you're basically setting the stage for World War III. I had to mediate a fight over who was stealing whose properties, and by the end of the night, I was just as exhausted as if I'd run a marathon.

So, here I am, a resident advisor, navigating the wild world of college life. I've learned to embrace the chaos, laugh at the absurdity, and remind myself that one day, these kids will look back and realize that maybe, just maybe, they weren't as invincible as they thought. And who knows? Maybe one day, they'll be the ones telling stories about their time in the dorms, and I'll be the punchline.

For Whom Shakespeare Wrote【電子書籍】[ Charles Dudley Warner ]

Queen Elizabeth being dead about ten o'clock in the morning, March 24, 1603, Sir Robert Cary posted away, unsent, to King James of Scotland to inform him of the "accident," and got made a baron of the realm for his ride. On his way down to take possession of his new kingdom the king distributed the honor of knighthood right and left liberally; at Theobald's he created eight-and-twenty knights, of whom Sir Richard Baker, afterwards the author of "A Chronicle of the Kings of England," was one. "God knows how many hundreds he made the first year," says the chronicler, "but it was indeed fit to give vent to the passage of Honour, which during Queen Elizabeth's reign had been so stopped that scarce any county of England had knights enow to make a jury." Sir Richard Baker was born in 1568, and died in 1645; his "Chronicle" appeared in 1641. It was brought down to the death of James in 1625, when, he having written the introduction to the life of Charles I, the storm of the season caused him to "break off in amazement," for he had thought the race of "Stewards" likely to continue to the "world's end"; and he never resumed his pen. In the reign of James two things lost their lustreーthe exercise of tilting, which Elizabeth made a special solemnity, and the band of Yeomen of the Guard, choicest persons both for stature and other good parts, who graced the court of Elizabeth; James "was so intentive to Realities that he little regarded shows," and in his time these came utterly to be neglected. The virgin queen was the last ruler who seriously regarded the pomps and splendors of feudalism.

Dante's Inferno: A Wanderer in Hell【電子書籍】[ Alexis Brooks de Vita ]

For an urban English-speaker in the twenty-first century, the original language of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno, the first act of his trilogy, the Comedy, would read like a shockingly accurate critique of today’s globalized society, if we could understand it. Dante’s Inferno: A Wanderer in Hell gives second-millennial English-language readers a chance to share the pathos, the humor, and the raw political aggression of Dante’s vision of Hell.

Dante’s Inferno: A Wanderer in Hell preserves the meaning of Dante’s verses, line by line. Where a literal translation of his highly philosophical but often slang-rich text will not make sense for the twenty-first century English-speaking reader, the most reasonable compromise of the literal and figurative is used.

Written in exile from Florence, Dante’s Inferno speaks to those of us today who question our own and our societies’ values. Dante, lost in the middle of his lifetime, wanders behind Virgil down the narrow safe passage through Hell’s increasingly nightmarish suffering. On this horrendous journey, Dante will come to understand the consequences of the social evils running rampant in Europe’s cancerously spreading empire that values profits more than people and teaches its citizens to prize their own personal pleasure above principle, spreading sexual license, gang turf war, and international political and religious violence.

Heart of Darkness (1899) is a short novel by Joseph Conrad, written as a frame narrative, about Charles Marlow’s life as an ivory transporter down the Congo River in Central Africa. Originally published as a three-part serial story, in Blackwood's Magazine, the novella Heart of Darkness has been variously published and translated into many languages.

In 1998, the Modern Library ranked Heart of Darkness as the sixty-seventh of the hundred best novels in English of the twentieth century.

Short Summary
Aboard the Nellie, anchored in the River Thames near Gravesend, England, Charles Marlow tells his fellow sailors about the events that led to his appointment as captain of a river-steamboat for an ivory trading company. At this station Marlow meets the Company's chief accountant who tells him of a Mr. Kurtz, and explains that Kurtz is a first-class agent.
